Training

ECDL

The 7-module ECDL course is delivered over 26 training sessions. It covers a wide range of core computer skills, including the use of common computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access (Databases), IT Security, Computer Essentials and Online Essentials (Internet & Email). When all 7 modules have been completed, an ECDL certificate is then awarded by ICS-Skills and as such verifies a high-level of competence in computer use. Castleblayney Enterprise Centre also offer an ECDL Essentials Certificate covering Microsoft Word, Excel, Online Essentials and Computer Essentials. Certification in individual modules is also possible. The five applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Internet and Email) take four training sessions each to complete, while Computer Essentials takes two, and IT Security takes three training sessions to complete. These flexible options ensures that everyone can gain certification in this highly sought after qualification which is recognised both in Ireland and internationally.
